Job description

Product Manager - Headbox & Forming Solutions

With a strong business focus and a passion for helping customers solve problems, the Product Manager, Headbox & Forming Solutions role could be your next career move.

As Product Manager, you will work closely with customers to understand business needs and present Valmet technical solutions to create strategies that meet their goals. You will develop proposals that include scope definition, specifications, performance guarantees, cost estimates, and pricing. You will collaborate with Technology Managers, Application Engineers, Sales Managers, and other Product Managers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Know and understand Valmet technology-its strengths and weaknesses (technical and commercial), how it is applied to meet customer needs, and the latest product developments.
  • Serve as the lead interface to Engineering and Project Management for sold projects to ensure adherence to the as-sold project contract.
  • Follow project start-up and interact with the customer and internal resources to ensure project goals and guarantees are met.
  • Provide feedback on product development needs to R&D.
  • Work from any Valmet site (role can be based at any Valmet location).

Expectations:

  • Familiarity with Headbox and Forming solutions/technology and papermaking processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related science degree in paper or process technology; plus 3-5 years of experience in paper-industry roles such as Field Services, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, or Applications (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience working with customers and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to meet and work with customers.
