Supplier Procurement Engineer – EPC Procurement Oversight

Location: Remote Pay Rate: $69-$115/hour Position Type: Long-Term Contract

Position Overview

System One is seeking an experienced Supplier Procurement Engineer to support EPC procurement oversight for a large-scale advanced energy project. This role will serve as the primary interface for engineering, procurement, project management, contracts, and legal teams, ensuring successful execution of heavy industrial equipment procurements from planning through delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive supplier management, project management, and manufacturing oversight experience while supporting complex engineering procurements in highly regulated industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage EPC procurement performance, supplier oversight, and project execution.
  • Monitor supplier cost, schedule, technical deliverables, and procurement milestones.
  • Partner with engineering, project management, commercial, contracts, and legal teams to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate reviews of engineering specifications, bid packages, supplier evaluations, and procurement documentation.
  • Support procurement planning, budget tracking, and schedule management.
  • Assist in developing Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and supplier contract documentation.
  • Manage supplier technical interfaces and coordinate engineering reviews of supplier deliverables.
  • Oversee procurement progress to ensure timely delivery of equipment, documentation, and project milestones.
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support technical coordination between engineering teams and EPC procurement organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Nuclear, Systems, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • 10-20 years of supplier oversight, supplier management, or project management experience.
  • Experience supporting heavy industrial equipment procurement and manufacturing.
  • Experience developing Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and supplier work scopes.
  • Strong supplier oversight experience in engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting technical reviews and coordinating supplier deliverables with engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of project controls, project planning, scheduling, and procurement processes.
  • Experience supporting contractual and commercial aspects of supplier relationships.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management training.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing oversight experience in fabrication or heavy industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, manufacturing travelers, and quality programs.
  • Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, nuclear, and multidisciplinary engineering principles.
  • Experience supporting complex energy, nuclear, industrial, or EPC projects.
