Job description

At NorthBay Health, The Podiatrist will provide expert care in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions and injuries, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care from diagnosis through recovery.

With expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment options, the Podiatrist will address a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, diabetic foot care, trauma, and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. 

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Dedicated procedure and administrative time
  • Call Ratio: Shared call
  • Daily Patient Census: Varies based on outpatient and surgical cases
  • Equipment/Resources: Advanced imaging, state-of-the-art surgical suites, advanced biologics and modalities

  • Provider Support: Full medical team support

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures.
  • Perform surgical procedures to treat foot and ankle issues such as but not limited to fractures, deformity correction, sports medicine and reconstructive surgery.
  • Provide diabetic foot care and management.
  • Collaborate with other specialists to manage complex cases requiring multi-disciplinary care.
  • Prescribe and implement treatments such as physical therapy, orthotics, and medication.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, including x-rays and lab work.
  • Provide preventive care and patient education on foot and ankle health.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest advancements in podiatric medicine and surgery.
  • Actively participate in hospital committees and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree
  • Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine or Surgery through ABPM or ABFAS; in progress with certification is acceptable 
  • Licensed to practice in the state of California
  • Proven experience in podiatric procedures and patient care
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
