Job description

Remote/Hybrid | Full-Time


Synovation Medical Group is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our employees and managers throughout California and other operating states. This position requires strong knowledge of California employment law and hands-on experience managing employee relations, leave administration, accommodations, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations.


The ideal candidate is a dependable HR professional who can independently manage sensitive employee matters, provide practical guidance to leadership, and ensure that HR policies and practices comply with applicable employment laws.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise managers on employee relations, attendance, performance, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Manage federal and state leave programs, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA/FEHA accommodations, and the interactive process
  • Coordinate workplace investigations and respond to employee complaints
  • Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work processes
  • Maintain compliant personnel records, notices, documentation, and required postings
  • Monitor compliance with California wage-and-hour, meal and rest break, sick leave, and employment requirements
  • Draft and review corrective-action notices, accommodation correspondence, leave notices, and other HR documents
  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and policy communication
  • Assist with updates to employee handbooks, policies, and procedures
  • Provide HR guidance to managers across multiple clinic locations and states
  • Partner with payroll, benefits administrators, operations, and employment counsel as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgment


QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3- 5 years of progressive HR experience
  • At least 3 years of direct California HR and employment-compliance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of California and federal employment laws
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, leaves of absence, accommodations, investigations, and disciplinary matters
  • Experience supporting a multi-location or multi-state workforce preferred
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or PHRca certification is a plus
  • Excellent written communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
