Avalere Health is seeking a Managing Director to join our US Market Access practice. We help clients optimize market access and commercial strategy for their products through deep subject matter expertise and understanding of the dynamic policy and payment landscape and the business issues impacting the relative marketplace. We design strategic and tactical plans to maximize adoption and uptake by payers, providers, and patients throughout the product lifecycle by integrating policy and healthcare market dynamics into the business planning cycle. We work on a team basis with complementary scientific, technical, and regulatory expertise in the pre-approval and post-market spaces.
The team focuses on a wide range of market access and commercialization areas, such as payer strategy, pricing and contracting strategy; go-to-market campaigns; coverage, coding, and reimbursement strategies across commercial and public payers; provider segmentation and engagement strategy; distributors and specialty pharmacies; field team design and deployment; patient support services; and investment / business development and licensing (BD&L) strategy.
What you'll do
Develop and secure business, with a personal sales goal of $2M annually.
โ€ข Conceptualize the scope of projects for clients, assemble a cross-functional team, and oversee the team from project initiation through client delivery.
โ€ข Manage a portfolio of clients to ensure that all of Avalere Health's knowledge and expertise are available to meet client needs.
โ€ข Serve as a subject matter expert on reimbursement, market access and commercialization related issues impacting the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostic, payer, and provider industries.
โ€ข Create strategic and tactical recommendations for clients to ensure optimal market access for client products.
โ€ข Independently lead solutions to complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner, with support from junior team members.
โ€ข Proactively seek and obtain speaking engagements with clients, and thought leaders to generate public recognition for Avalere Health and result in new business and revenue generation.
โ€ข Collaborate with other Advisory teams (Global Market Access, Policy, Evidence and Strategy, and SenseLab) as well as other Avalere Health business units (Marketing/Agency of Record, Medical Communications, and Global).
โ€ข Mentor, supervise, and train team members across the Advisory business.
About you
Required:โ€ข
  • 10+ years of relevant healthcare, life sciences, or other industry experience
    • Examples of relevant work experience include: consulting firms, diagnostics and/or pharmaceutical manufacturers, clinical laboratories with specialty in molecular diagnostics, and the healthcare industry at large.
  • 6+ years of market access, reimbursement and/or commercialization experience.
  • 2+ years of consulting experience with business development experience and accountability.
  • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience with excellent leadership/mentoring skills in developing and coaching staff.

$225,000 - $270,000 a year
