About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a large healthcare organization seeking experienced Patient Access Representatives to join a high-volume hospital registration team. This is a direct-hire opportunity for candidates with strong hospital registration experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

Multiple full-time openings are available across evening and swing shifts.

Job Description:

The Patient Access Representative serves as a frontline resource for patients and families throughout the registration process. This position is responsible for scheduling and registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, collecting patient payments, obtaining required documentation, and preparing accounts for billing.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hospital registration experience and be comfortable supporting high-volume areas such as the Emergency Department, Radiology, Surgery, and Admissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register and check in patients accurately within hospital registration systems.
  • Obtain and update patient demographics, insurance information, identification, and required documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits.
  • Complete bedside registration for Emergency Department patients when needed.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorization information.
  • Identify missing authorizations or referrals and coordinate with the appropriate teams to resolve issues.
  • Explain co-pays, deposits, outstanding balances, and other patient financial responsibilities.
  • Collect and accurately document patient payments while following established cash-control procedures.
  • Review registration information for accuracy before services are billed.
  • Ensure required orders, referrals, scripts, and supporting documentation are received.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients and families with scheduling, registration, and general questions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and respond to patient portal, email, fax, and work queue requests.
  • Collaborate with clinical, financial, scheduling, and insurance teams to prevent delays in patient care.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of hospital registration experience required.
  • Strong experience with patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
  • Experience collecting co-pays, deposits, and other patient payments.
  • Comfortable discussing insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility.
  • Experience working in a high-volume hospital environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service and patient-facing experience required.
  • Epic experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Cerner or other hospital registration systems preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, mature, and comfortable handling challenging patient interactions.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Training: Approximately 6–8 days of onsite training
