Job description

Responds to a high volume of appointment requests, including telephone calls, emails, work queues, and other electronic messages, for scheduling of appropriate medical exams, procedures, and tests with and without demographic collection and insurance registration, and serve as escalation point for questions from Specialists I and II and complex scheduling requests.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customer service, patient access, healthcare administration, or a related service-oriented role
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex patient situations, service recovery, and escalation resolution
  • Serves as a departmental resource for workflow, policy, and process questions
  • Consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to coach, train, and support less experienced staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and operational excellence
  • Healthcare experience, including scheduling, patient registration, insurance, or revenue cycle functions preferred
  • Experience participating in quality improvement initiatives, workflow development, or project work preferred
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert or lead team member preferred.
