Job description

Step into an instrumental role. Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced and friendly financial planning office. Work as an employee of an independent advisor franchisee with a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial.

The paraplanner will primarily assist financial advisors and associate financial advisors with client service and financial planning workflow. Create and deliver an exceptional client experience that differentiates our practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics while following legal and regulatory requirements.

This position allows the advisor the assurance they to know that their practice is being maintained and supported within Ameriprise Financial guidelines

Position Functions:

  • Maintain client management system
  • Call clients and prospects to set up appointments
  • Respond to client requests, coordinate/track projects and manage business-as-usual projects such as setting and preparing for annual reviews
  • Attend, participate in and/or conduct client meetings as needed
  • Write notes or letters to clients on personal letterhead of administrative nature and handle client appreciation – “surprise and delight!”
  • Coordinate client appreciation events and seminars
  • Prepare preliminary financial planning recommendations and initial product solutions for advisor review and use in client meetings when licensed
  • Develop portfolio/robust product solution recommendations that will fit the client’s risk tolerance and time frame as well as develop appropriate product deliverables when licensed
  • Provide insight and recommendations to effectively use key marketing tools (MOD, Go Social, Advisor website, etc.) that help grow our practice
  • Complete transaction requests as directed by financial advisors and associate financial advisors
  • Maintain files and records in accordance with the records retention policy
  • Responsibilities and time allocation will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties assigned by the advisors.

  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisors and Ameriprise Financial
  • Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance within the advisor’s practice
  • Positive attitude and sincere willingness to learn and grow

Education and Other Designations:

  • College degree or higher
  • 2+ years of similar experience
  • Already have or be able to study for and pass exams for federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses.

Pay:

  • Excellent pay correlating to qualifications and experience with potential for bonuses.
