Job description

Mission-Driven, Impact Forward

Turn conversations into care. Help families access the maternal support they deserve.

Meet Mae

Mae is a venture-backed digital health solution on a mission to improve the health and quality of life for mothers, babies, and those who love them. Mae has created a space where complete digital care meets culturally-competent on-the-ground support. We address access gaps and bolster physical and emotional well-being through continuous engagement, risk assessment, early symptom awareness, and a community-led model of support for our users.

Digital solutions to address cultural deficits in care are at the forefront of femtech innovation, and Mae is quickly gaining traction with healthcare payers as a viable solution to address the implicit, explicit, and structural biases that hinder equitable maternal health. In addressing whole-person care and focusing on self-advocacy, education, and community, we seek to improve outcomes for mothers and birthing people while also reducing the clinical costs of care at an impactful scale. See what we're doing at www.meetmae.com and @maehealthinc on Instagram.

At Mae, we are: Solution-Oriented - We turn problems into opportunities. Curious - We ask thoughtful questions and learn quickly. Mission-Connected - We center mamas and doulas in everything we do. Adaptable - We move with urgency and adjust as we grow. Data-Driven - We measure what matters. Accountable - We own our outcomes. Transparent - We communicate clearly and honestly.

If you care deeply about maternal health equity and want your work to directly impact families, this role is for you.

Mae is hiring a Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Outreach Specialist to support enrollment and engagement of eligible health plan members. You will conduct high-volume outbound outreach to introduce Mae's services, explain doula support, and guide members through the enrollment process. This role requires strong communication skills, resilience, and the ability to build trust quickly.

This role blends outreach, education, and mission-driven sales. You will introduce eligible members to Mae's services and guide them toward enrollment. Success requires both compassion and the ability to convert interest into action confidently.

You will report to the Member Services Manager.

    What You'll Own

    Member Outreach & Enrollment

    • Place a high volume of outbound calls to eligible health plan members
    • Introduce Mae's services in a clear, warm, and member-centered way
    • Explain how members may benefit from pregnancy, postpartum, and doula support
    • Guide interested members through the enrollment and onboarding process
    • Use internal tools to identify members for outreach and track call activity
    • Document outreach activity, member status, and follow-up needs accurately
    • Use trust-building, active listening, and motivational communication to support member engagement
    • Handle unanswered calls, hesitation, and rejection with professionalism and resilience
    • Share feedback with the team about outreach barriers, member questions, and opportunities to improve conversion
    What Success Looks Like

Success in the role means balancing compassion with consistent performance.

    You will be expected to:

    • Complete high-volume outbound outreach each day
    • Meet and exceed enrollment goals
    • Convert live conversations into completed member enrollments
    • Continue quality outreach when eligible members remain
    • Stay organized with call notes, follow-ups, and documentation
    • Maintain momentum after unanswered calls, hesitation, or rejection
    • Represent Mae with warmth, professionalism, and respect

    Baseline performance expectations include:

    • 50 or more outbound outreach calls per day
    • 120 or more new member enrollments per month

High performers consistently exceed baseline expectations while maintaining quality, accuracy, and a positive member experience

    Experience We're Looking For
    • Fluent in Spanish and English, written and verbal
    • 1 to 3 years of experience in outbound outreach, patient engagement, enrollment, sales, appointment setting, or a high-volume call center environment
    • Proven ability to meet or exceed outreach, enrollment, sales, or conversion goals
    • Comfort making a high volume of outbound calls in a remote work environment
    • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly
    • Ability to build trust quickly with members who may be unsure, busy, or hesitant
    • Confidence in asking members to complete enrollment during the same conversation
    • Resilience, maturity, and professionalism when handling rejection or sensitive conversations
    • Strong organization and follow-through with documentation and follow-up tasks
    • Comfort using tools such as Slack, Gmail, CRM systems, spreadsheets, dialers, or internal platforms
    • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
    • Reliable high-speed internet and a private, quiet workspace for confidential member conversations
What Makes Someone Successful at Mae

    You are:

    • Strong influencing and motivational communication skills
    • Emotional resilience when handling rejection or sensitive conversations
    • Highly organized with strong time management
    • Comfortable using Slack, Gmail, CRM systems, and digital tools
    • Quick learner in fast-moving environments

    Preferred

This is a six-month temporary position with potential for extension based on performance and business needs. High performers may be considered for expanded responsibilities as the program scales.
