Job description

Introduction Are you a highly technical, data-focused professional who enjoys building robust reporting solutions and working directly with enterprise financial systems. The City of Scottsdale's Budget Department, within the City Treasurer's Office, is a high-performing team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and actionable financial data that supports decision-making across the organization. We leverage Oracle Fusion ERP and Oracle EPM to support core financial processes, strengthen reporting capabilities, and provide departments with reliable data for planning and analysis.

We are seeking a technically skilled analyst with strong report development experience to join our team. This role is heavily focused on reporting, with approximately 60% of responsibilities dedicated to designing, building, and maintaining reports using Oracle OTBI, BI Publisher, and related tools. This position is ideal for candidates who: Enjoy hands-on report development and data analysis Have experience working with enterprise ERP/EPM systems Can translate business needs into scalable reporting solutions Thrive working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment In this role, you will partner with Budget staff, IT, and stakeholders across the organization to deliver high-quality reporting solutions, improve data accessibility, and support critical financial processes.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain reports using Oracle OTBI, BI Publisher, and related reporting tools (primary focus of the role) Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions Write and optimize queries to extract and analyze data from Oracle Fusion and related systems Support reporting enhancements, system configuration, and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with business users, IT staff, and vendors to deliver effective and scalable solutions Troubleshoot reporting and data issues, ensuring accuracy and reliability of outputs Support Oracle EPM-related reporting and budgeting processes Work Environment IMPORTANT: This position is part-time and fully on-site. It is not eligible for remote work. This is an unclassified, at-will position that serves at the discretion of the City.

Part-time positions have limited benefits as required by law. Applicants who do not meet all the minimum requirements for the Department Systems Analyst/Programmer III position may be considered for an underfill as a Department Systems Analyst II or I, depending on applicant qualifications. If the position is underfilled, the salary offered would be commensurate with the lower-level classification.

The minimum requirements and salary range for the underfill position are listed below in the minimum qualification section. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. Although the full salary range is listed above, the salary range to midpoint for each position is listed below.
