Job description

Oracle Cloud HCM/ERP was implemented by Connecticut Children's in 2024. The Oracle Systems Analyst specifically supports Connecticut Children's ERP and select HCM systems (payroll, timekeeping, scheduling), with a focus on data integration, Analytics and process improvement. They will support Payroll, Finance, Projects, and Supply Chain modules of the Oracle Cloud and Kronos (UKG).

This role's primary duties will focus on data analytics for the hospital's Oracle system and sub-systems. Experience with enterprise-wide implementations is preferred. The Oracle Systems Analyst is a technical role responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Analytical Reporting environments, and support the integration of data from many sources. Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions, including both the design of table structures and the processes used to populate those structures with data from internal and external sources. Provides data in a format that is accurate, reliable and is easily accessible so that that can be used to make sound business decisions. This role educates and trains customers to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new form and content for the purpose of analysis and exploring options.  Interact with various teams in hospital operations, project managers, internal and external customers, senior management, and external vendors. This analytical role will support multiple concurrent work efforts and be responsible for coaching/education for team members.

Education Required: High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school, is required.

Education Preferred: BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related Health Care field, or equivalent demonstrated work experience preferred.

Experience Preferred: 2 to 5 years relevant experience within a healthcare environment in a business systems capacity, 1 to 3 years Information Systems Analyst experience highly desired.

Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Oracle, Infor, SAP, WorkDay, Salesforce) with a focus on Report Writing and/or Security preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

Project development life cycle preferred.

Web-based technologies, processes, and analytics

Employing software quality assurance and testing concepts, techniques, industry best practices, tools and standards.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Oracle, Infor, SAP, WorkDay, Salesforce) with a focus on Report Writing and/or Security preferred.

Skilled at:

Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.).

Proficiency in data gathering techniques and the ability to devise, design and communicate systems solutions to client issues and problems of medium complexity

Ability to:

Apply best practices in Nurse Scheduling, Time and Attendance (Kronos), Human Resources, Payroll, and Labor Analytics is preferred.

Employ software quality assurance and testing concepts, techniques, industry best practices, tools and standards.

Employs proficient analytical skills to define systems information requirements and objectives for system application and interface maintenance or application enhancement requests and communicates to clients and programmers.

Identifies data element conversion needs in existing applications.

Prepares written documentation of the need for application changes or replacements, and coordinates staff and manages project plans for their implementation.

Drafts project scope plans, project plans, and issue logs; monitors and reports status of project plans to Lead IS staff and/or manager.

Prepares formal change implementation plans and monitors their implementation. Educate and coach other team members and work with minimal supervision in support of team members.

Provides technical expertise in the supported application. Works with application stakeholders to improve the effective utilization of the application.

May provide agreed levels of system administration and configuration.

Participates in, develops, implements, documents and validates comprehensive test plans complying with current standards, designed to produce successful and failed outcomes.

Functions as a liaison to the system users and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements, data flows and process flows.

Educates analysts and programmers on business requirements, objectives and operational needs and the relevant system applications.

Participates in the system selection process, including needs assessment, RFP and vendor selection.

May be required to travel to/from and work in the various CCMC locations, including patient care areas.

Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.

Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store CT Children's information.

Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information
