Electrical Data Analyst
Location: Seattle, WA
Employment Type: Contract
Hourly Rate: $45-$60
Position Overview
Strategic Business Solutions is seeking an Electrical Data Analyst to support a utility GIS and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program. This role will focus on electrical data integrity, GIS mapping validation, utility network analysis, and transformer-to-meter relationship verification to ensure the accuracy of critical utility systems and operational data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and experience working with GIS, utility data, electrical distribution systems, or engineering-related information.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and validate electrical network data to identify discrepancies and data quality issues.
  • Utilize GIS platforms to maintain and update electrical distribution models.
  • Investigate electrical phase mismatches, transformer-to-meter relationships, load islanding, looping issues, and connectivity discrepancies.
  • Research and resolve mapping and data integrity issues through system analysis and field verification activities.
  • Maintain databases and tracking systems supporting utility asset and mapping updates.
  • Support utility operations by ensuring the accuracy and reliability of GIS and AMI-related data.
  • Collaborate with engineering, GIS, operations, and field personnel to improve data quality and system performance.
  • Document findings, corrections, and process improvements related to electrical system mapping and utility data management.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, GIS, Engineering, or related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting electrical systems, GIS, engineering data, utility operations, or related environments.
  • Experience using ArcGIS, ESRI products, or GIS mapping platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret electrical system information, utility data, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, GIS, or related field.
  • Utility industry experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, transformers, meters, and utility infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting GIS mapping, AMI programs, utility asset management, or electrical engineering functions.
  • Experience with data validation, discrepancy analysis, and utility network modeling.
