What You Will Do:

• Develop supplier development strategies.
• Drive cost reductions, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and oversee work transitions.

• Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business unit goals and overall supply chain objectives.
• Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, terms, and long-term agreements (LTAs).
• Identify and qualify alternate sources of supply to mitigate sole-source risk.
• Manage supplier scorecards and drive corrective action plans for underperforming suppliers.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management on sourcing decisions.
• Lead or support work transfers/transitions between suppliers or facilities.
• Manage supplier risk assessments, including financial health, capacity, and geopolitical exposure.
• Support cost reduction initiatives (should-cost modeling, value engineering, competitive bid events).
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, export control, and configuration management requirements.
• Participate in make-vs-buy analyses and total cost of ownership evaluations.
• Travel up to 25%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
• Experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or commodity management, preferably within aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience negotiating long-term agreements (LTAs) and complex contracts
• Familiarity with supplier risk assessment tools and financial health analysis (e.g., D&B ratings)
• Experience with configuration management standards and engineering change processes
• Knowledge of rare-earth/strategic material sourcing and sole-source supplier dynamics
• Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS/CPSM certification
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, or similar
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a track record of cost reduction
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and supplier-facing engagement

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
