Are you interested in being part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions? At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.

About the role:

As a APx Project Logistics Principal you will provide advanced leadership, planning, and execution oversight for domestic and international transportation, including complex project cargo and Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AILs). You will be a technical and commercial subject matter expert for routing, permitting, carrier engagement, and multimodal strategy. Lead complex issue resolution, support pricing and sourcing decisions, and guide cost efficiency and operational improvements while working. You will report to Senior Project Logistics Manager and work remote. This is a 100% remote role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help develop logistics sourcing strategies across road, rail, air, ocean, warehousing, standard, and project cargo movements.

  • Lead carrier pricing discussions and negotiations, including evaluation of cost drivers, accessorial structures, risk premiums, and market conditions and resolve service issues.

  • Translate project requirements into executable logistics plans, balancing safety, service, cost, and risk.

  • Be the contributor to logistics strategy discussions for NPP and large industrial projects, providing insight on feasibility, routing constraints, permitting timelines, and delivery sequencing.

  • Lead technical assessments of routing feasibility, permitting requirements, escorts, equipment selection, and site access constraints.

  • Provide guidance on lift planning, packaging concepts, structural limitations, and transport risk mitigation without overseeing detailed drafting or documentation.

  • Monitor carrier performance and operational trends to identify risks or deviations from plan.

  • Take the lead in complex issue resolution, coordinating directly with carriers, surveyors, site teams, authorities, and team members.

  • Evaluate transportation spend, pricing structures, and forecasted demand to identify optimization opportunities.

  • Support cost reduction and avoidance projects, such as carrier rationalization, consolidation strategies, routing alternatives, or mode optimization.

  • Contribute to freight budget planning, variance analysis, and postexecution cost reviews.

  • Review PO and contract delivery terms to ensure agreement on planned execution.

  • Lead conversations at an operational and commercial level.

  • Communicate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement, Operations, and Sites to anticipate issues and align execution.

  • Ensure accurate logistics execution and visibility in SAP and ATOMS by overseeing inputs and validating outcomes.

  • Use system data to support performance tracking, cost analysis, and risk identification rather than being a primary data entry role.

  • Monitor logistics market conditions, capacity trends, pricing volatility, and regulatory developments.

  • Share insights to support carrier strategy, budget planning, and risk management decisions.

  • Evaluate existing logistics processes and performance outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Support process improvements focused on simplifying execution, improving predictability, lowering cost, and reducing rework or escalation frequency.

  • Contribute lessons learned and best practices from project execution.

  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to lessexperienced team members, in project cargo execution and issue management.

  • Maintain required training certifications and promote a safety and compliance culture within logistics operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years' experience in supply chain and logistics
