Job description

Imports Logistics Analyst- (Temp role) 

Position Summary
The Imports Logistics Analyst is responsible for supporting the movement of imported product from origin through port arrival, drayage, rail, and final distribution center delivery. This role manages transportation visibility, carrier performance, exception resolution, reporting, and cross-functional communication to ensure imported inventory moves efficiently through the supply chain network.
The ideal candidate has experience in international transportation, ocean imports, drayage operations, carrier management, and transportation analytics. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Core Responsibilities
Import Transportation Operations
Manage daily import transportation activities from port arrival through final delivery
Coordinate with ocean carriers, drayage providers, rail partners, and logistics providers
Monitor shipment exceptions and drive timely resolution
Support container movement and transportation planning
Assist in reducing demurrage and detention exposure
Manage transportation-related PO changes and operational updates
Track freight routing decisions and transportation execution
Analytics & Reporting
Develop and maintain KPI reporting and scorecards
Analyze carrier performance and transportation trends
Produce rail dwell reporting and transportation visibility reporting
Track drayage performance and transportation accuracy metrics
Monitor import forecast accuracy and transportation capacity trends
Create operational dashboards and performance reporting
Leverage AI tools and technologies to improve reporting, forecasting, and transportation visibility
Carrier & Partner Management
Communicate with carriers, drayage providers, rail partners, freight forwarders, and logistics providers
Monitor service performance and escalation issues
Support transportation capacity planning and execution
Maintain transportation visibility across multiple service providers
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with MSS, Category Assistants, Distribution Centers, Sourcing, and Logistics leadership
Escalate operational risks and service disruptions
Support cross-functional problem solving and issue resolution
