Job description

Duties/Responsibilities:
The following essential functions/duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain fluency on all TheraCare policies and procedures and state/local regulations
  • Provide Quality Assurance for the School Registered Nurse Program (DOE Staffing Program)
  • Provide on-going mentorship, clinical support, and regulatory compliance of nurses
  • Conduct clinical interviews for incoming RN's
  • Conduct new hire trainings for orientation
  • Conduct annual training required before start of school year and upload/update training documents in shared drive.
  • Retraining for supervising staff if needed
  • Creation and implementation of Nurse improvement plans
  • Provide on-going clinical support to nurses with scheduled onsite school/clinic visits, field observations, phone calls and emails
  • Document all visits/meetings (in person/remote/calls) and supervisions in Outlook calendar and software
  • Document and update all supervision visits forms in shared drive within 24 hours of occurrence.
  • Assist operations in obtaining required expiring credentials for nurses under supervision
  • Attend meetings requested by the DOE on vendor updates and clinical subject matters
  • Attend training courses and workshops to keep skills current
  • Maintain clinical software that is given access to the RN Supervisor by the DOE, ensure staff is trained and verse. Follow up for access to the DOE if needed.
  • Respond promptly to emails/calls with Ops staff and nurses, within 4 hours, unless in extraneous circumstance.
  • Conduct performance appraisals of all direct reports as required by TC policies and procedures
  • If needed, provide direct service

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency of school nursing program and supervision
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to provide in-person and remote training
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook Calendar, and other software programs needed in the role

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Registered Nurses in school/clinic setting

Education and Experience:
  • NYS license as Registered Nurse

Physical Requirements:
  • Hand dexterity ability
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel to various locations when needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
