Are you passionate about helping community health centers maximize the value of health information technology?
OSIS is seeking a HIT Optimization Consultant to support safety net healthcare organizations in leveraging technology to improve patient care, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.
As a member of the OSIS Core HRSA HCCN Collective Team within our Government Affairs department, you will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, delivering NextGen EHR training, technical assistance, regulatory guidance, and workflow optimization support to health centers across the country.
What You'll Do
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver NextGen EHR training programs, course materials, and reference documentation for internal teams and participating health centers.
  • Create user-friendly job aids, "how-to" guides, toolkits, and educational resources.
  • Monitor federal and state healthcare regulations impacting Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT), including ePrescribing of Controlled Substances (ePCS), Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMP), interoperability requirements, and other clinical technology initiatives.
  • Provide onsite and virtual training, consultation, and technical assistance to clinical and non-clinical users.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously update content to meet evolving client and regulatory needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects, service requests, and organizational initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert for clients, members, and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent OSIS within the health information technology and community health center communities through meetings, conferences, and national healthcare initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships that foster client confidence and support long-term success.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Health Information Technology, or a related field or 5+ years of experience working with NextGen software.
  • 2+ years of EHR training and support experience for clinical users, including providers.
  • Experience with NextGen EHR.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • NextGen EHR Certification (NCP).
  • Experience supporting Community Health Centers (CHCs) and/or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
  • NextGen workflow design, implementation, or optimization experience.
  • Direct clinical operations experience.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be NextGen Certified (NCP) or obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Must maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% as needed.
  • Reliable high-speed internet service in a remote work environment.

Compensation Range
