To thrive as a Remote Monetization Specialist, you need expertise in digital marketing, data analytics, and revenue optimization, typically supported by a background in business, marketing, or related fields. Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, A/B testing platforms, ad management systems, and sometimes certifications in digital marketing are highly valuable. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and adaptability help you collaborate across teams and identify new revenue opportunities. These skills are essential for maximizing digital revenue streams and ensuring sustained growth in a competitive online environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote monetization roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote monetization roles often face challenges such as coordinating across time zones, ensuring effective communication with cross-functional teams (like product, marketing, and engineering), and staying updated with rapidly changing digital monetization trends. Addressing these challenges involves utilizing robust collaboration tools, establishing clear communication protocols, and dedicating time for regular market research and team updates. Proactively seeking feedback and fostering transparency can also help build trust and improve outcomes in a remote setting.

Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking aย Monetization Science Strategistย to join our Strategy team within theย Strategic Pricing and Monetizationย organization. This role is for a first-principles thinker who is passionate about using data, machine learning, and advanced analytics to solve complex monetization challenges.

You will be responsible for pioneering our approach to sophisticated commercial strategies. This includes developing advanced pricing models (such as token-based, API, and consumption-based) and leveraging predictive analytics (likeย customer lifetime value and churn models) to help drive overall business impact. This is a unique opportunity toย shape the future strategy of how Bentley Systems monetizes from the ground up.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Serve as a trusted quantitative advisor to the product management, marketing, sales, and engineering teams.

  • Design, build, and analyze monetization strategies for new and existing products, with a focus on advanced pricing models like API pricing, tokenization, and consumption.

  • Apply machine learning, statistical analysis, econometric modeling, andย optimization scienceย to understand customer behavior, predict demand, and measure price elasticity.

  • Develop predictive models to forecast customer lifetime value (LTV) and identify key drivers of churn, turning these insights into actionable strategies.

  • Develop and run simulations to forecast the revenue, adoption, and usage impact of new commercial strategies.

  • Partner with the marketing team onย marketing science projects, such as customer segmentation and marketing mix modeling to optimize spend and targeting.

  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

  • Stay at the forefront of innovation in SaaS monetization, data science, and machine learning, and champion new methodologies within the team.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • A deep passion for using data and technology to answer hard questions and drive business impact.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proven ability to structure complex problems and develop analytical frameworks to solve them.

  • A strong desire to work collaboratively and cross-functionally, translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex quantitative insights in a clear and compelling manner to a range of audiences.

  • A proactive and inventive mindset, with the ability to turn constraints into opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in a data science or quantitative analytics role with a focus on commercial or product strategy.

  • Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling, and expertise in SQL.

  • Demonstrated experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and statistical techniques.

  • Experience in developing and implementing predictive models in a business context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field.

  • Experience pricing for SaaS, usage-based products, APIs, or software with AI/ML components.

  • Experience in a consulting firm or a high-growth tech company, focused on pricing, product strategy, or growth.

  • Familiarity with our industry (infrastructure engineering software, CAD products) or B2B software.
