Remote monetization refers to strategies and practices that individuals or businesses use to generate income or revenue online from a remote location. This can involve a variety of methods such as affiliate marketing, digital product sales, online advertising, SaaS subscriptions, and more. The main goal is to earn money without being tied to a physical office or location, often leveraging digital tools and platforms. Remote monetization is increasingly popular due to the flexibility and global reach it offers, allowing people to work from anywhere. Common examples include running an e-commerce store, creating online courses, or offering freelance services.

Job description

About the team
As a Principal Product Manager within the Industry Software Product organization, you'll be part of a collaborative group focused on commercializing the professional software products that real estate agents, brokers, and their teams rely on every day.
This team plays a critical role in creating a unified, intuitive commercial journey across Zillow's growing suite of offerings, so real estate professionals can easily discover, purchase, onboard, manage, and get value from the products they use every day. We own shared monetization capabilities that power that journey across products, including purchase flows, onboarding, entitlements, billing and payments, and the underlying business rules that allow Zillow to scale and evolve its commercial model over time.
About the role
As a Principal Product Manager, Monetization, you'll own the commercial experiences that directly drive Zillow's revenue - the moments that take a real estate professional from interest to purchase to long-term value. This is high-ambiguity, high-stakes work: you'll set strategy, align diverse stakeholders, and make the tradeoffs that shape how monetization scales across a growing portfolio of professional software products.
The right person for this role is not only strong with customer-facing UX or roadmap execution; they are equally comfortable working through the underlying systems complexity of onboarding, entitlements, pricing, billing, contracts, and enterprise purchasing models.
You Will Get To:
  • Define and drive product strategy in a high-stakes, cross-functional environment, shaping direction in partnership with senior leaders across the company.
  • Own a multi-quarter monetization roadmap end-to-end, from discovery and definition through launch and iteration.
  • Define and evolve self-serve and sales-assisted monetization experiences that reduce friction, improve activation, and increase time-to-value for real estate professionals.
  • Shape reusable monetization capabilities that can support multiple products and business models, rather than bespoke implementations for a single surface or team.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, design, sales, finance, legal, and operations, keeping complex, multi-team programs moving without direct authority.
  • Partner with engineering and data science to define what success looks like and build the measurement systems to track it, including funnel performance, operational burden, and customer outcomes.
  • Implement durable customer insight mechanisms that keep the voice of the customer present throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Help shape scalable monetization systems that can support complex customer structures, account hierarchies, and multi-party purchasing workflows.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $178,300.00 - $284,700.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia the standard base pay range for this role is $169,300.00 - $270,500.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.
Who you are
  • 8+ years of product management experience with direct ownership of complex, cross-functional product areas.
  • Demonstrated track record driving monetization, marketplace, or platform programs at scale, ideally in B2B or B2B2C contexts.
  • Experience owning complex monetization systems, such as shopping, onboarding, entitlements, billing and payments, pricing, or packaging.
  • Principal-level judgment: proven ability to define product strategy, sequence multi-quarter roadmaps, and navigate ambiguity in fast-moving organizations.
  • Strong cross-functional influence skills: experience aligning engineering, design, sales, finance, legal, and operations around a shared roadmap and driving decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong product and business judgment: comfortable sizing business impact, identifying measurement gaps, and using quantitative, qualitative, and customer insights to guide prioritization and tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complexity quickly, ramp on new domains, and pivot with confidence when priorities shift.
  • AI fluency: demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate your own work, with a clear point of view on where AI capabilities can drive meaningful customer value in the product.
  • Experience with enterprise or hierarchical purchasing models, experimentation and funnel optimization, or the real estate industry is a plus.
  • Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.
