What is a remote mergers and acquisitions attorney?

Remote Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Attorneys are legal professionals who specialize in handling business transactions where one company merges with or acquires another, while working remotely. They advise clients on deal structures, conduct due diligence, draft and review contracts, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. These attorneys use technology to communicate with clients, other attorneys, and stakeholders, making it possible to manage complex transactions without being physically present at a law firm or client site.

How does a remote mergers and acquisitions attorney effectively collaborate with clients and deal teams during complex transactions?

As a remote Mergers and Acquisitions Attorney, effective collaboration typically relies on a combination of secure digital communication tools, project management platforms, and regular video conferences. You will coordinate closely with clients, internal legal teams, and external advisors such as accountants and bankers to ensure due diligence, negotiate terms, and draft transaction documents. Maintaining clear, proactive communication and setting expectations for response times are crucial for managing the fast-paced, detail-oriented nature of M&A transactions. While working remotely offers flexibility, it also requires strong organizational skills to keep all parties aligned and transactions on schedule.

Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills help you manage complex transactions and build client trust. These skills ensure precise legal compliance, smooth deal execution, and successful client outcomes in a virtual environment.

Job description

Take the next step in your legal career with a boutique firm that offers the sophistication of Big Law without sacrificing work-life balance. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with founders and high-growth technology companies, lead meaningful M&A transactions from start to finish, and build a clear path toward a future partnership title, all while working remotely on lean, high-impact deal teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead strategic buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions
  • Draft and negotiate definitive transaction documents
  • Manage due diligence and oversee deals from signing through closing
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and opposing counsel

We're Looking For:

  • 3–6 years of strategic M&A experience at a Big Law, strong midsize, or reputable boutique firm
  • Ability to independently manage transactions with minimal supervision
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and client management skills
  • Active admission to a U.S. state bar

Why This Opportunity Stands Out:

  • Fully remote U.S.-based role
  • Competitive total compensation of $200K–$270K with quarterly bonuses
  • Flexible billable hour targets
  • Additional performance and origination bonuses
  • Clear, merit-based path to a non-equity partner title in a growing M&A practice

If you're looking for greater responsibility, meaningful client exposure, and long-term career growth, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today or send your resume to info@successmatcher.com.
All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.
