About the Role:
The Senior Manager, Social & Community at Crunchbase is responsible for leading the company's social media strategy, content creation, and online community presence across key digital platforms and emerging discovery channels. This role will shape how Crunchbase shows up in conversations around startups, technology, investing, and business intelligence by turning Crunchbase data and market insights into engaging, high-impact content and community engagement strategies.
This individual will own end-to-end social and community execution, including editorial planning, platform management, content creation, audience engagement, and reputation management. The role requires a highly strategic yet hands-on marketer who understands modern platform behavior, online influence, and community-driven brand growth.
What You'll Do:
  • Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
    • Own and manage Crunchbase's day-to-day social media presence across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging platforms
    • Develop and maintain a social and editorial calendar aligned to company priorities, industry trends, and timely market conversations
    • Create platform-native content including written posts, short-form videos, carousels, clips, and data-driven visual content
    • Identify and amplify unique stories using Crunchbase data, including startup funding trends, acquisition activity, founder momentum, and market shifts
    • Shape and evolve Crunchbase's social voice to be insightful, engaging, and credible with founders, investors, operators, and enterprise buyers
    • Monitor platform trends, audience behavior, internet culture, and emerging content formats to identify opportunities for experimentation and audience growth
    • Analyze content performance, engagement metrics, and competitive activity to continuously optimize strategy and execution
  • Community Strategy & Brand Presence
    • Develop and execute Crunchbase's community engagement strategy across relevant online communities and forums
    • Build and maintain Crunchbase's presence on Reddit through thoughtful participation and audience engagement
    • Own Crunchbase's G2 presence, including review generation, responses, reputation management, and audience engagement initiatives
    • Identify additional communities, forums, and industry spaces where Crunchbase should actively contribute, including Slack groups, Quora, and niche business communities
    • Monitor community conversations and surface insights, customer pain points, recurring themes, and market opportunities back to internal stakeholders
    • Strengthen Crunchbase's visibility and credibility across online conversations influencing brand perception and buying decisions
  • Brand Influence & Audience Growth
    • Help position Crunchbase as a trusted and influential voice across startup, investment, and technology conversations
    • Experiment with new content formats, emerging platforms, and AI-powered discovery experiences to expand audience reach and engagement
    • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Communications, Product Marketing, and Revenue teams to align messaging and campaign priorities
    • Support broader brand awareness, thought leadership, and audience growth initiatives through strategic social and community engagement

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in social media, community management, content marketing, or related roles
  • Proven portfolio of content personally created across multiple platforms, demonstrating audience engagement and strong editorial instincts
  • Experience managing brand presence and audience engagement across multiple social and community platforms
  • Experience with video editing, short-form content production, and visual storytelling preferred
  • Experience in B2B technology, SaaS, fintech, or data-driven brands preferred
  • Experience with G2, Capterra, or similar review and reputation management platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar tools preferred
