About the Opportunity:

A rapidly growing multi-state healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee a large-scale AR operation supporting Private Duty Nursing (PDN) and home-based healthcare services. Reporting directly to senior Revenue Cycle leadership, this individual will be responsible for managing an accounts receivable portfolio of 100M+ while leading a team of AR professionals.


This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing operational oversight, team development, analytics, payer relations, and process improvement. The AR Manager will play a key role in driving collections performance, reducing aged AR, resolving reimbursement issues, supporting month-end close activities, and identifying root causes of denials and payment delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Accounts Receivable professionals while promoting accountability, engagement, and performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day AR operations, ensuring timely follow-up, collections activity, claims resolution, and reimbursement optimization.
  • Manage month-end close activities, AR reporting, and portfolio performance across multiple service regions.
  • Monitor aging reports, denial trends, timely filing limits, write-offs, and reimbursement performance to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring denials, underpayments, and operational issues while implementing long-term corrective actions.
  • Partner with payer representatives and contracting teams to resolve escalated reimbursement concerns and recover underpayments.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and AR performance summaries for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Cycle, Operations, Finance, and regional leadership teams to improve AR performance and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize data and reporting tools to identify trends, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Support organizational growth by helping scale AR operations within a multi-state healthcare environment.


Qualifications:

Required

  • 5+ years of Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Revenue Cycle Management experience within healthcare managing.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing AR, billing, collections, or revenue cycle teams.
  • Experience managing large AR portfolios of 100M+ and complex reimbursement environments.
  • Strong Medicaid billing and collections experience.
  • Experience with denial management, reimbursement analysis, payer escalation, and root cause analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including reporting, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, operational leaders, and payer representatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and hold teams accountable while fostering a positive work environment.


Preferred

  • Private Duty Nursing (PDN) experience strongly preferred.
  • Home Health, Pediatric Home Care, or other Medicaid-focused healthcare experience.
  • Experience with healthcare clearinghouses and revenue cycle technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV).
  • Experience within a multi-site healthcare organization.
  • Exposure to automation tools, AI technologies, or advanced operational reporting solutions.
