Job Summary

The Manager, Accounts Receivable leads and develops a team responsible for endtoend Accounts Receivable and billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement while meeting key performance metrics. This role drives operational excellence through team member development, policy implementation, audit oversight, and crossfunctional collaboration, while maintaining high standards of customer service, compliance, and patientcenter communication.

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience
  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • This role involves overseeing team members and interaction and collaboration with other departments and requires excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, judgment, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare Accounts Receivable and revenue cycle processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills, including professional phone etiquette.

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Solid understanding of practice management systems; experience with Hospital EMR systems (Epic and/or eClinicalWorks preferred).
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients regarding medical, financial, and policy-related matters.
  • Ability to calculate patient responsibility, including deductibles and co-insurance, and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding.
  • Ability to manage service issues professionally and follow through to resolution.
  • Ability to remain flexible, focused, and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily communication and direction to direct reports and team leaders, including updates related to payors, center additions, new market initiatives, and work assignments.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service when working with Accounts Receivable Specialists, payors, and centers.
  • With support from the Senior Manager, Market Revenue Cycle, participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews of team members.
  • Implement and maintain audits to ensure team efficiency, accuracy, and thoroughness in managing outstanding Account Receivable accounts.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key performance metrics, including but not limited to days outstanding, accounts receivable over 90 days, and collections performance.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities for staff to support continuous improvement.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain Accounts Receivable departmental policies in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Market Revenue Cycle.
  • Track, document, and analyze department productivity, making process improvements as needed to meet or exceed departmental goals.
  • Motivate, engage, and support team members to drive accountability, performance, and professional growth.
