Job Summary

Patient Appointment Services (PAS) Clerk in Oklahoma City, OK โ€“ Remote. Supports the Military Community โ€“ Civilian Opportunity at Puget Sound Military Appointing Center.

Schedule: 40 hours/week Pacific Time Zone. Location Requirement: Candidate must reside within a 40-mile radius of Oklahoma City.

Position Overview

Federal Staffing Resources (FSR) is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Patient Appointment Services (PAS) Clerk to support the Puget Sound Military Appointing Center in Tacoma, WA. This is a civilian role within a centralized healthcare call center serving military beneficiaries and their families.

You will play a vital role in helping patients access healthcare by managing appointments, verifying eligibility, and coordinating with Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in accordance with TRICARE access standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage inbound/outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments in accordance with DHA policies.
  • Verify patient eligibility through the DEERS system and update demographic information as needed.
  • Assist with appointment coordination for both primary and specialty care referrals.
  • Conduct outbound calls to facilitate timely appointment scheduling, preventive care reminders, and surgery coordination.
  • Process secure message appointment requests and assist with drive-time mapping for specialty care.
  • Adhere to access-to-care and drive-time standards to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Mail appointment information to beneficiaries as required.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Employ customer service scripts and uphold a positive and professional demeanor in all patient interactions.

Remote work & Equipment Requirements

  • Must work remotely within the United States from an approved home address.
  • Must be available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
  • Dedicated, private workspace with a door required (no shared/common areas).
  • Must use company-issued or approved secure equipment only.
  • Required to have wired (Ethernet) internet connection.
  • Minimum internet speeds: Download: 50 Mbps.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and similar applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and apply appropriate solutions.
  • Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC) and be able to obtain clearance for the worksite.
  • Prior healthcare administrative experience preferred.
