The Positive Progress Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families, maintaining proactive communication regarding their loved ones' progress and treatment plans.
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing our clinical and Attachment-Based Family Therapy models to ensure comprehensive and personalized care.
  • Facilitate Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and support groups, ensuring that families are engaged and empowered in the therapeutic process.
  • Complete thorough documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Utilize digital tools such as EMR systems, Microsoft Word, and Outlook to manage case files and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Participate in regular treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and training opportunities to stay informed about best practices and organizational updates.
  • Independently manage a caseload and schedule to meet established goals and drive successful client outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on adolescents and young adults facing a variety of challenges, including mental health issues, substance use, eating disorders, and the impacts of trauma. The LMFT will play a crucial role in helping these individuals navigate their unique struggles, aiming to foster resilience and promote overall mental wellness within families.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution is a prerequisite.
  • Current registration as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), Associate Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Psychological Associate in New York is required.
  • Demonstrated experience providing individual, group, or family therapy specifically with adolescents and young adults is essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience with therapeutic modalities addressing mental health issues, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed care is preferable.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and models, especially related to family systems, enhances the therapeutic approach provided.
