The Role
This is an opportunity to join a small in-house legal team of a rapidly-growing company with global reach. Within a highly collaborative and supportive team, this role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced commercial environment, with responsibility for a wide range of legal matters.
The Senior Legal Counsel (Interim) will support the General Counsel and the rest of the Legal & Compliance Department in overseeing the legal & compliance aspects of the company's business, advancing company objectives while mitigating risk. The Senior Legal Counsel (Interim) will help safeguard the company's reputation by ensuring adherence to laws, rules & policies, and will provide effective & practical legal advice across the organization.
We are seeking a US qualified Senior Attorney on an interim basis of 4 months (possibly to be extended) to assist the General Counsel. The role will focus on day to day legal operations which fall into two distinct buckets:
  • Deal oversight and support (customer commercial transactions); and
  • Conventional legal aspects, such as Intellectual Property, data privacy, ESOP, corporate governance etc.

What You'll Do
  • Assist US-based General Counsel in planning and development in support of evolving the legal function
  • Work with the legal team in Ireland and supporting a follow-the-sun working methodology
  • Draft, negotiate and review a wide range of commercial contracts with customers, partners and service providers and provide support to more junior members of the legal team
  • Provide accurate and timely counsel to company employees on a variety of legal topics (including commercial contracts, privacy and data protection, policies and procedures, corporate governance, intellectual property, employment law, etc.)
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on legal aspects of a commercial transaction
  • Communicate, negotiate, and resolve issues with colleagues and external parties, establishing relations of trust
  • Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders
  • Maintain the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and responsibility
  • Keep current on updates and changes in applicable rules and legislation, and developing expertise in new areas of practice
  • Work closely with the General Counsel and rest of the Legal & Compliance Department to ensure consistent and reliable support to the organization

Collaborating With
You will collaborate closely with the Legal and Compliance department along with key stakeholders and leaders in the organization, including Sales and Finance.
Profile and Skills
  • You are a US qualified lawyer with at least 8 to 10 years post-qualification experience in related areas of the law, especially commercial contracts (technology / SaaS)
  • You have the highest standard of professional ethics and integrity
  • Demonstrated drive, enthusiasm to learn and the ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
  • You have a solid understanding of commercial law, and the commercial consequences of legal issues
  • You demonstrate sound judgement and have the ability to analyze situations and information
  • You possess outstanding organization and communication skills
  • You enjoy working closely with your team and the camaraderie that can bring
  • You enjoy working collaboratively towards and achieving team/corporate goals
  • You like to innovate and to solve problems creatively and quickly, exhibiting a "think outside the box" approach.
