Position Summary
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will drive pipeline growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective clients across the United States. This role is responsible for conducting outbound prospecting, managing inbound leads, researching target accounts, and scheduling qualified discovery meetings for the InSource sales team.
With a primary focus on Operational Efficiency, Industrial Cloud, and Professional Services, this position plays an important role in connecting manufacturing and industrial organizations with solutions that can improve productivity and profitability.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive, client-focused mindset, strong communication skills, and a desire to grow within a consultative B2B sales environment. This role is critical to fueling InSource's growth by building early-stage relationships and creating meaningful opportunities for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Outbound Prospecting and Lead Generation: Drive business development efforts through proactive outreach, including calls, emails, social selling, industry events, and other approved channels. Identify and engage organizations within the ideal client profile.
  • Lead Qualification and Discovery: Conduct initial conversations with prospects to understand their business needs, operational challenges, decision-making process, timing, and alignment with InSource solutions.
  • Inbound Lead Management: Evaluate and respond promptly to incoming leads, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate qualification, and effective handoff to Account Executives or Account Managers.
  • Account Research and Targeting: Research target organizations, facilities, industries, and stakeholders. Develop and maintain strategic account and contact lists across operations, engineering, maintenance, IT, OT, and executive leadership.
  • Collaboration with Sales and Marketing: Partner with sales and marketing teams to support campaigns, nurture leads, improve messaging, and increase the quality and conversion of prospective opportunities.
  • Solution Awareness and Messaging: Develop a strong understanding of InSource offerings and communicate how our solutions and services can support productivity, operational visibility, quality, reliability, workforce effectiveness, and risk reduction.
  • CRM and Activity Management: Maintain accurate records of outreach, conversations, lead status, follow-up commitments, and pipeline activity within the company's CRM and sales engagement platforms.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, InSource solutions, and customer success stories. Participate actively in coaching, call reviews, role-playing, and ongoing professional development.

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, lead generation, customer service, marketing, or another customer-facing role.
  • Demonstrated ability or strong interest in:
    • Prospecting and generating new business opportunities.
    • Engaging and qualifying potential clients.
    • Supporting sales teams in pipeline development and meeting generation.
  • Experience using CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator is preferred.
  • Exposure to B2B technology, industrial automation, engineering services, professional services, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Experience selling Industrial SCADA, MES, MRP, or MOM software is preferred.
