Job description

UNC Health Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Infectious Disease Physician (MD/DO) to provide per diem virtual teleacute services to a variety of patients at multiple UNC Health community hospital facilities. This role will provide both synchronous and asynchronous consults to patients.
About This Position:
• Remote position, offering the opportunity for work/life balance with no commute. Candidate must reside in North Carolina.
• Variable shifts; Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
• Virtual consultations of hospitalized patients, consisting of adults 18 and older.
• High-quality care to adult (18+ years old) hospital patients who need medical services.
• Candidate must be licensed in North Carolina.
• No call.
• EPIC electronic medical record platform utilized.
Ideal Candidate:
• 2+ years of experience is preferred.
• Board Certified/Eligible in Infectious Disease.
• Telemedicine experience is a plus but not required.
• Open-minded and flexible with change.
• Dedicated to developing new and exciting ways to deliver care.

• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Board Certified Infectious Diseases
• DEA; BLS; MD/DO, NCMB
Professional Experience Requirements:
• Prefer prior inpatient experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English.
REASONING ABILITY
High-level quantitative and qualitative reason skills are essential in order to diagnosis medical and clinical issues presented by patients.
