Title: Staff Industrial Engineer - Supply Chain Operations
Location: Hybrid with 30% travel. Aurora, IL or Bethlehem, PA.
Role Description:
The Staff Industrial Engineer - Supply Chain Operations will pave the way for future supply chain flows within our facilities. This role will develop product flows to optimize for exceptional merchant experience and high efficiency. The role will operate with autonomy and identify process improvements across the warehouse network. Solid lean/six sigma and continuous improvement experience will accelerate ShipBob's growth, and the Staff Industrial Engineer - Supply Chain Operations will guide this by developing new programs and providing training/guidance to eliminate waste in our processes. This role reports to the IE, Supply Chain Operations, who also serves as the backup for this role.
What you'll do:
  • Evaluate current supply chain practices and identify those needing improvement.
  • Enforce quality control to reduce waste.
  • Improve the efficiency of fulfillment and transportation processes.
  • Evaluate employees' tasks and responsibilities, identifying procedures or tools to improve productivity.
  • Investigate, evaluate, develop project estimates, financial proposals, and manage a variety of operational projects.
  • Facilitate and manage corrective and preventative action teams resulting from customer complaints, internal quality problems, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to operations by spending time on the floor learning processes, troubleshooting, and guiding and/or participating on multiple process improvement teams.
  • Develop CAD drawings, process flow charts, cost saving analysis.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams on new processes and equipment planning.
  • Deliver variation reductions utilizing Process Control methodology.
  • Define and document Standard Operating Procedures for new and modified processes.
  • Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent successful attainment of process improvement project goals.
  • Manage process data collection and analysis as part of project tracking and completion.
  • Establishing and tracking key operational metrics.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management best practices and procedures.
  • Comply to all food safety and compliance policies and regulations.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Industrial Engineering.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Experience launching process automation to optimize efficiency.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt and knowledge of lean and continuous improvement concepts and processes preferred.
  • Experienced in project management.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and procedures.
  • Basic 2D/3D CAD software skills.
  • Up to 30% travel required.

The full salary range for this position in our compensation architecture is $116,501 - $194,169. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company's policies.
