PostgreSQL DBA (Logical) and Some Development Experience
Position: Fulltime
Location: Remote
Duration: Long term
Job description:
  • Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Perform logical database design, schema optimization, and data modeling to support application performance and scalability.
  • Oversee database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
  • Support database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
  • Collaborate closely with application development teams to ensure efficient SQL design and database integration.
  • Implement and maintain database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:
  1. 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator with focus on PostgreSQL.
  2. Strong understanding of logical database design, normalization, and schema management.
  3. Experience in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database partitioning.
  4. Experience supporting State or Federal government projects or large consulting clients
  5. Familiarity with AWS RDS / Cloud PostgreSQL environments is a plus.

Experience with Linux environments, shell scripting, and monitoring tools (e.g., pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana).
