What is a remote immigration law firm?

A remote immigration law firm is a legal practice that specializes in immigration law and operates primarily online, allowing attorneys and staff to work from different locations rather than a traditional office. These firms provide services such as visa applications, green card processing, citizenship assistance, and deportation defense through virtual consultations, secure document sharing, and digital communication. Clients can access legal help regardless of their location, making the process more flexible and accessible. Remote immigration law firms use technology to streamline case management and maintain client confidentiality while delivering high-quality legal advice.

Working remotely for an immigration law firm often involves managing sensitive client information and collaborating with team members across different locations and time zones. Staying organized and maintaining clear communication are essential, as is ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Utilizing secure technology platforms for case management, regular virtual meetings, and clear documentation practices can help overcome these challenges. Proactively seeking feedback and maintaining a strong digital presence with clients can also enhance collaboration and client trust.

Our successful Chicago-based law firm is experiencing continued growth and is seeking several Part-Time/Contract Associate Immigration Attorneys to join our National Immigration Practice. If you have experience handling family-based immigration matters and are comfortable representing clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), we encourage you to apply.

We are a growing national firm committed to providing exceptional legal representation while offering our attorneys professional growth, flexibility, and long-term opportunities. This is an ideal position for a bilingual (English/Spanish) attorney who enjoys courtroom advocacy and working remotely as part of a collaborative legal team.

Depending on your location, local travel to immigration courts may be required. All approved travel expenses are covered, and additional bonuses are available for travel assignments.

Position Summary

This role requires a motivated, organized, and self-directed attorney who can effectively manage a remote practice while providing outstanding client service. You will represent clients in immigration proceedings, maintain regular communication with clients, and collaborate closely with our national legal team.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
  • Handle family-based immigration matters from case preparation through court appearances.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare legal filings, motions, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files.
  • Collaborate remotely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of immigration law experience.
  • Demonstrated EOIR courtroom experience is required.
  • Current EOIR registration required.
  • Experience handling family-based immigration matters.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and standard remote office technology.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.

What We Offer

  • Remote work flexibility.
  • Competitive contract compensation.
  • Opportunity to work with a growing national immigration practice.
  • Collaborative and supportive legal team.
  • Professional growth and long-term opportunities.

If you are a dedicated immigration attorney with EOIR courtroom experience who is looking for a flexible remote opportunity with a growing national law firm, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
