Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (MDT)
Payrate: $70-$76/hr on W2
Work Arrangement: Remote/Hybrid - Telework eligible after successful training/trial period and supervisor approval
About the Organization
Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC) is a Joint Commission-accredited healthcare organization serving a large portion of the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations. The organization provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient healthcare services, including emergency care, surgery, dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, urology, and other specialty services.
Located in Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau, Tuba City offers a culturally diverse community and serves patients across a broad geographic region.
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting standardized accounting practices and maintaining accurate financial records under limited supervision. This position prepares and enters journal entries, analyzes and reconciles General Ledger accounts, and reviews transactions from subsidiary ledgers to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely financial statement closing.
The Accountant will also assist with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management of organizational financial resources. Additional responsibilities may include supporting and/or processing payroll functions and providing financial support to Senior Leaders and Directors.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and enter journal entries into the General Ledger system.
  • Analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts and financial transactions.
  • Reconcile activity from subsidiary ledgers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with month-end and financial statement closing activities.
  • Ensure accounting transactions comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with projecting future financial needs and organizational financial requirements.
  • Support the development and management of capital and operating budgets.
  • Provide financial information and support to Senior Leaders and Directors.
  • Assist with management of financial resources in accordance with approved organizational budgets.
  • Assist with and/or process payroll functions as assigned.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and records.
  • Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Perform additional accounting and financial duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or another business-related field.

Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using Workday in a healthcare business/accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with General Ledger functions, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Healthcare accounting experience required.

Remote / Telework Requirements
This position may be eligible for telework following successful completion of the required training/trial period and with supervisor approval.
Remote employees must:
  • Have a reliable and stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 20 Mbps.
  • Work onsite if the required internet speed is not met or the connection is unstable.
  • Use VMware Horizon™ 7 when using a personal virtual desktop for off-site work.
  • Use a VPN to access internal resources when provided with a TCRHCC laptop.
  • Comply with all applicable TCRHCC policies, including:
    • Telework Policy and Procedures
    • Remote Access Policy
    • Telework Agreement

  • Orientation: Every 2 weeks
  • COVID & Flu Exemptions: May be accepted after submission of a declination form.
