Sr. Process Designer (Remote)

Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact: we're hiring a Sr Process Designer. Design industrial and agricultural processing facilities that propel commerce and create an efficient and safe facility for our customers. At VAA, you'll have unique opportunities to utilize your talents and experience while flexing your problem-solving muscles.

Our Process team's work is focused on producing process equipment layout, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) / process flow diagrams, equipment and instrumentation specifications for industrial agricultural processing facilities.

Your role:

The Sr. Designer works with Engineers and Project Managers to prepare complete construction documents and assist during the construction support phase and acts as a primary technical contact on projects.

  • Prepare proposals and required drafting fees.
  • Understand and convey scope, schedules and end-product needs to internal project team.
  • Layout plans, sections and details to specified VAA/client CAD standards working directly with engineers and project managers.
  • Review project documents for coordination with all disciplines to avoid and resolve conflicts
  • Participate in internal coordination meetings and client coordination meetings.
  • Design and layout preliminary concepts and accurately communicate the content.
  • Prepare and edit specifications, coordinate with drawings, and review shop drawings.
  • Communicate with client and contractors regarding RFI's and field questions.
  • Support project team in nurturing the client relationship.
  • Provide direction and distribute work to technicians, designers and engineers.
  • Mentor and train technical staff to produce high quality design services and deliverables.
  • Perform a quality control review.
  • Perform site visits as needed.

Your resume must include:

  • Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher and at least 8 years of directly related experience.
  • OR at least 9 years of directly related experience in lieu of certificate.

Starting Hourly Range: $37.00 - $60.00. A variety of factors are considered when determining an offer including, but not limited to, market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills.
