Job description

Senior Luxury Hotel Interior Designer
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Luxury Hotel Interior Designer to join our in-house development team, responsible for the selection, specification, procurement, and lifecycle oversight of furniture, fixtures, and equipment across a portfolio of luxury hotel assets.
This role requires a seasoned professional with 10+ years of hospitality purchasing experience, including deep expertise in fabric and textile selection, custom furnishings, and luxury hotel brand standards. The ideal candidate will act as the internal authority on FF&E, ensuring all selections align with brand positioning, operational durability, and long-term asset value.
Unlike a design firm role, this position emphasizes owner representation, balancing design intent, operational performance, cost efficiency, and consistency across a multi-property portfolio.
At American Cruise Lines, we are driven by our values-Optimism, Commitment, Patriotism, and Merit. These values shape our culture, our service, and our people, guiding us as we work together to Share America's Story on the Finest American Ships.
Key Responsibilities:
FF&E Strategy, Standardization & Owner Representation
  • Serve as the in-house FF&E expert representing ownership interests across all hotel development and renovation projects.
  • Establish and maintain portfolio-wide FF&E standards, guidelines, and approved vendor lists to ensure consistency in quality, durability, and brand positioning.
  • Develop standard specifications and palettes (e.g., fabrics, finishes, casegoods, seating typologies) where appropriate, while allowing flexibility for brand differentiation.
  • Drive cross-property alignment in materials, performance standards, and procurement strategies to achieve economies of scale and operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with external interior designers, architects, and brand representatives to review and approve FF&E selection.

Specification & Material Expertise
  • Review, refine, and approve FF&E packages across all properties, including guest rooms, public areas, and specialty venues.
  • Lead evaluation and selection of high-end fabrics, textiles, leathers, and finishes, ensuring performance in high-traffic hospitality environments.
  • Validate compliance with fire codes, sustainability requirements, and brand guidelines.
  • Promote continuity of materials and specifications across the portfolio while respecting each asset's identity.

Procurement & Vendor Oversight
  • Oversee FF&E procurement processes in coordination with procurement agents or internal teams.
  • Consolidate purchasing strategies across projects to leverage volume pricing, preferred vendor relationships, and global sourcing efficiencies.
  • Evaluate and maintain a curated network of approved suppliers and mills aligned with luxury quality standards.
  • Review and negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules.
Project Execution & Coordination
  • Collaborate with development, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless FF&E delivery and installation.
  • Participate in mock-ups, sample reviews, and site inspections across multiple properties.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of FF&E standards during installation.

Budgeting & Cost Management
  • Develop and oversee FF&E budgets across multiple assets.
  • Identify portfolio-level cost optimization opportunities while preserving design integrity.
  • Track expenditures and provide consolidated reporting to senior stakeholders.
Asset Lifecycle & Quality Assurance
  • Define and implement portfolio-wide FF&E lifecycle strategies, including replacement cycles, maintenance standards, and refurbishment planning.
  • Conduct periodic property assessments to evaluate FF&E condition and consistency with established standards.
  • Ensure all installed products meet the highest standards of luxury, craftsmanship, and longevity.

Additional Emphasis
  • Act as the steward of brand consistency and material excellence across the entire hotel portfolio, ensuring every property reflects a cohesive standard of luxury while maintaining its unique identity.
