They may collaborate with clients and senior designers via video calls, emails, and project management tools. This type of internship allows for flexible learning while building a portfolio and gaining industry insights.

Can I work remotely as an interior designer?

Remote interior design internships are available and allow interns to work from home using design software like AutoCAD or SketchUp. Successful remote interns typically have strong communication skills and access to a computer with reliable internet. Remote interior design interns are often involved in a variety of tasks such as assisting with digital mood boards, preparing floor plans and 3D models, sourcing materials and furnishings online, and supporting the design team with client presentations. You might also conduct research on design trends, help with project documentation, and participate in virtual meetings or brainstorming sessions. While interns typically work under supervision, they are given opportunities to contribute creative ideas and receive constructive feedback. This hands-on experience not only builds your technical and design skills but also helps you gain insight into the workflow of professional interior design teams working remotely.

What is the 3-5-7 rule in interior design?

The 3-5-7 rule in interior design is a guideline for creating balanced and harmonious spaces by arranging elements in groups of three, five, or seven to achieve visual interest and proportion.
