To thrive as a Remote Healthcare Billing Specialist, you need a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems (such as ICD-10 and CPT), and healthcare regulations, often supported by a certification like Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA). Familiarity with billing software, electronic health records (EHRs), and claim management systems is typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and strong communication skills are essential soft skills for ensuring accuracy and resolving billing inquiries. These competencies are crucial for minimizing claim denials, ensuring timely reimbursements, and maintaining compliance in a remote work environment.

What is remote healthcare billing?

Remote healthcare billing involves managing and processing medical billing tasks from a location outside of a traditional healthcare facility, often from home. Professionals in this role handle tasks such as submitting insurance claims, processing patient payments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. By working remotely, healthcare billing specialists use secure software to access patient records and billing information, helping healthcare providers receive timely payments while maintaining data security.

  • High-Impact Outreach: Drive candidate engagement through massive "text blast" campaigns and high-volume daily call targets (50-100 calls) to build a robust talent pipeline.
  • Clinical Vetting: Conduct daily video interviews on Zoom to assess licensure, clinical competency, and cultural fit for hospitals, outpatient centers, and urgent care clinics.

  • Market Agility: Rapidly adapt to various medical specialties and regional market demands, ensuring Gotham remains the first choice for general healthcare staffing.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain "obsessive" accuracy in candidate records using our tech stack (LinkedIn Recruiter, and proprietary ATS tools).

  • General Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with various medical licenses (LMHC, PT, RN, LPN, MD, DO, PA, NP) and the general credentialing process in the US.
  • Sales DNA: Proven success in a high-pressure, metrics-driven environment-whether in recruitment, B2B sales, or high-volume business development.
  • Remote Mastery: Expert at managing your own time and maintaining high productivity in a 100% remote setting.
  • Communication Powerhouse: Ability to connect authentically with medical professionals and "sell" them on their next career-defining move.
