What is a remote gameplay animator?

A Remote Gameplay Animator is a professional who creates character and object animations for video games while working from a remote location, rather than in a traditional office setting. They collaborate with designers, programmers, and artists to ensure animations enhance gameplay and storytelling. These animators use specialized software to bring characters and environments to life, focusing on movement, expression, and interaction. Working remotely allows them to contribute to game development teams from anywhere in the world, often requiring strong communication and self-management skills.

To thrive as a Remote Gameplay Animator, you need strong animation fundamentals, proficiency in character rigging, and experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio.
