Required SkillsKnowledge of chargeback processes, dispute management, fraud policiesData analysis, fraud detection techniques, risk assessment
Work EnvironmentCustomer service, finance, or banking sectorsFinancial institutions, e-commerce, or payment processing companies

While both roles focus on fraud prevention, Remote Fraud Chargeback specialists primarily manage disputes and chargeback processes, whereas Remote Fraud Analysts focus on identifying and preventing fraud proactively. Both roles require understanding of fraud policies and analytical skills, but their daily tasks differ significantly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Fraud Chargeback Specialist, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Fraud Chargeback Specialist, you need strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and experience with financial transactions or fraud investigation, often supported by relevant education or prior banking experience. Familiarity with chargeback management systems like Ethoca, Verifi, or internal bank platforms, as well as knowledge of card network regulations (Visa, Mastercard), is typically required. Excellent written communication, critical thinking, and time management are vital soft skills for investigating cases and resolving disputes efficiently. These competencies are essential for minimizing financial losses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining customer satisfaction in a remote work environment.

What are Remote Fraud Chargeback jobs?

Remote Fraud Chargeback jobs involve working from a remote location to review, investigate, and process chargeback claims related to fraudulent transactions. Professionals in these roles analyze transaction data, communicate with customers and merchants, and determine the legitimacy of disputed charges. Their main goal is to protect both the business and customers from financial losses due to fraud, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. These positions typically require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of payment processing systems.

How does a Remote Fraud Chargeback specialist typically collaborate with other departments to resolve disputes?

As a Remote Fraud Chargeback specialist, you will regularly coordinate with teams such as customer support, risk management, and finance to investigate and resolve disputed transactions. Effective communication is essential, as you'll gather and share evidence, clarify transaction details, and help ensure timely resolution of chargeback cases. This interdepartmental collaboration not only streamlines the dispute process but also helps identify patterns of fraud and improve overall risk mitigation strategies.

These sentiments capture why we choose Riskified every day.

About the Role

We are looking for a strategic, dynamic, and business-oriented (Senior) HR Business Partner to join our team in New York. In this role, you will be the dedicated HR partner for our Go-To-Market (GTM) organization, including Sales, Marketing, and Account Management teams.

You will act as a trusted advisor to GTM leadership, helping them navigate a fast-paced environment, drive organizational changes, and build high-performing teams. This is a highly strategic role that requires a deep understanding of business goals and the ability to translate them into impactful people strategies.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as a strategic consultant to GTM leadership on people-related matters, including organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Organizational Development: Lead and support organizational restructuring (re-orgs) and transitions, ensuring smooth execution and clear communication.
  • Managerial Coaching: Partner with managers across all levels of the employee lifecycle from onboarding and performance management to career development and retention.
  • Employee Experience & Culture: Drive initiatives that foster a high-performance culture, engagement, and inclusion within the NY office and the GTM teams.
  • Talent Strategy & Acquisition Support: Collaborate closely with our dedicated Talent Acquisition team. While you won't manage the recruitment process "hands-on," you will provide critical insights into team needs, culture fit, and leadership requirements.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Use people analytics to identify trends, provide recommendations, and measure the success of HR initiatives.
  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with the global HR team to align local NY initiatives with our global people strategy and values.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner in a fast-paced global tech environment or startup. Experience supporting GTM/Sales organizations is a major advantage.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to drive complex organizational changes and support leadership through growth and restructuring.
  • Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic, "everchanging" environment and can navigate ambiguity with ease.
  • Business Acumen: A strong understanding of GTM functions and how HR strategy directly impacts business success.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or HR certification like SHRM-SCP is a plus).

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. This range is applicable to candidates who will perform the job either wholly, or in part, within New York City. Actual salary will be based on qualifications, competencies, and location. If you feel this range is not attractive, we encourage you to let us know through the application process.

Base salary is just one part of the pay package at Riskified. All full-time regular employees receive a bonus target and are eligible to receive stock-based awards. Also, our value proposition goes way beyond compensation: our perks and benefits package, culture, community, and learning and development programs are just some of the elements we provide to bring value to our employees. We invite you to apply at www.riskified.com to learn more about what we have to offer.
