As of Aug 7, 2026, the average hourly pay for remote fence in the United States is $20.51, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.83 and $22.60 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the main challenges of working as a remote fence installer, and how can they be addressed?

One of the main challenges for remote fence installers is coordinating site assessments and installations without being physically present, which can make it difficult to address unexpected site conditions. Effective communication with clients and local teams, as well as leveraging technology such as video calls and site photos, can help bridge this gap. Additionally, time zone differences and varying local regulations may require flexibility and thorough research to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction. Building strong relationships with reliable local subcontractors is also key to successful remote project execution.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fence installer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fence Installer, you need skills in measuring, construction, and use of hand and power tools, often supported by experience or a high school diploma. Familiarity with construction equipment, safety protocols, and sometimes OSHA certifications are typically required. Attention to detail, physical stamina, and strong teamwork skills help ensure efficient and high-quality installations. These skills are crucial for delivering durable fences, maintaining safety standards, and satisfying client needs.

Common Search/ComparisonRemote FenceRemote Customer Support Agent

Remote Fence typically involves security or technical roles requiring specialized certifications and a focus on safeguarding digital assets. In contrast, Remote Customer Support Agents focus on assisting customers via phone or chat, requiring strong communication skills. While both are remote roles, they serve different industries and have distinct credential requirements.

What are remote fence systems and how do they work?

Remote fence systems, often known as virtual or wireless fences, are technology-based solutions used to contain pets or livestock without the need for physical barriers. These systems typically use GPS, radio signals, or Wi-Fi to create invisible boundaries. When an animal wearing a special collar approaches or crosses the set boundary, the collar emits a warning sound, vibration, or mild static correction to deter them from leaving the designated area. Remote fences are popular due to their flexibility, ease of installation, and minimal impact on landscaping. They are commonly used for dogs but can also be adapted for other animals.

Job description

About Brighter Day Services

Brighter Day Services is a fast-growing Maryland-based field services company offering residential and commercial cleaning, landscaping, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, fence repair, snow removal, and more. We operate under Robinson & Co., LLC and serve clients across four Maryland regions. We're scaling fast and looking for hungry, self-motivated professionals to join our remote operations team.

The Role

As a Lead Generalist, you are the operational backbone of your assigned regions. You'll manage inbound leads, coordinate service fulfillment, support client relationships, and ensure every job is handled from booking to completion - all from your phone or computer. This is a performance-based opportunity where your income grows with your output and the revenue you help drive.

What You'll Do

  • Manage inbound leads and client inquiries across your assigned regions within 5-10 minutes of receipt
  • Coordinate job assignments, scheduling, and service fulfillment using BookingKoala and our CRM
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients in your regions - handling questions, updates, and escalations professionally
  • Support the closing and onboarding of new residential and commercial service accounts
  • Upsell and cross-sell additional services during client interactions
  • Log all lead activity, job details, and client communications accurately in our CRM
  • Monitor job progress and ensure field technicians are dispatched, on time, and performing to standard
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Generalist Supervisor as needed
  • Select your own shift blocks through our scheduling app - work when you want, as much as you want

How You Get Paid

This is a commission-based role with a tiered structure designed to reward volume and performance:

  • Residential commissions: 10%-14% based on job value
  • Commercial commissions: 8%-14% based on job value
  • Weekly volume bonuses: $25-$100 depending on jobs completed
  • Recurring contract bonus: $50 per new contract + $25/month while it stays active + $75 renewal bonus
  • Performance accelerator: Hit $5,000+ in weekly regional revenue and earn +2% on ALL jobs that week
  • Milestone bonuses: Up to $500 for hitting cumulative revenue and contract targets
  • Optional weekend boost: Pick up Friday/Saturday shifts for +1-2% commission on all jobs closed

    What We're Looking For

    • Self-motivated individuals who thrive without micromanagement
    • Strong communication skills - you'll be coordinating with clients and field technicians daily
    • Organized and detail-oriented - CRM logging and job tracking are non-negotiable
    • Comfortable managing multiple jobs and clients simultaneously across two regions
    • Able to learn and follow company workflows, scripts, and pricing guidelines
    • Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
    • Prior experience in sales, customer service, operations, call centers, or field services is a plus - but not required, we train you

    You do NOT need:

    • A degree
    • Prior industry experience
    • A set schedule

    You DO need:

    • Hunger
    • Discipline
    • The ability to stay organized and keep clients and field techs moving

    What You Get

    • Unlimited earning potential - no cap on commissions or bonuses
    • Total schedule flexibility - choose your own shift blocks (morning, midday, afternoon)
    • Full training & onboarding - Day-1 go-live training, workflows, pricing guides, and ongoing coaching
    • Growth path - top performers are first in line for Lead Generalist Supervisor roles with override commissions and leadership bonuses
    • Real support - dedicated supervisors, weekly huddles, and performance dashboards so you always know where you stand

    Work Structure

    • This is a 1099 independent contractor position - not W-2 employment
    • No guaranteed hours or base pay
    • You choose when and how much you work
    • Multiple shifts block available daily (8:30 AM-4:30 PM windows)
    • All work is remote (subject to change in the future)
    Employment Type: CONTRACTOR
