Reports to: Director of Sales
Travel: Up to 30%, including attendance at industry conferences, payroll partner events, and onsite meetings with strategic HCM partners.
Role Summary
The Regional Relationship Manager (RRM) – HCM Channel is responsible for developing, growing, and managing relationships with payroll providers, HCM organizations, PEOs, and other workforce technology partners within an assigned territory. This individual serves as the primary relationship owner for existing and prospective partners, driving retirement plan growth through partner engagement, education, sales enablement, and strategic business planning.
The ideal candidate is a consultative relationship manager who understands the HCM ecosystem, enjoys collaborating across teams, and is passionate about helping partners successfully offer retirement solutions to their clients.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with payroll providers, HCM organizations, PEOs, and other workforce technology partners throughout the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner engagement, account management, and ongoing relationship development.
  • Develop territory growth strategies that increase retirement plan adoption, partner production, and long-term revenue growth.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with partners to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and develop joint growth initiatives.
  • Deliver product education and training on 401GO's retirement platform, implementation process, pricing, integrations, compliance resources, and sales tools.
  • Partner with National Account Managers to support larger regional and national HCM relationships when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Implementation, Partner Success, Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to ensure an exceptional partner experience.
  • Identify new HCM partnership opportunities while expanding engagement within existing partner organizations.
  • Manage the regional sales pipeline, forecast partner production, and maintain accurate opportunity tracking within HubSpot.
  • Coordinate partner onboarding, sales enablement initiatives, marketing campaigns, and co-branded growth opportunities.
  • Monitor partner health metrics and proactively address risks to retention, engagement, and production.
  • Represent 401GO at payroll, HCM, HR technology, and retirement industry conferences, trade shows, and partner events.
  • Provide market intelligence regarding competitive offerings, partner needs, industry trends, and product enhancement opportunities.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual territory goals related to new plans, revenue, partner activation, and partner growth.
What You Bring
  • 7–10+ years of experience in relationship management, channel sales, business development, or account management within the HCM, payroll, HR technology, benefits, fintech, or retirement industry.
  • Experience working with payroll providers, HCM platforms, PEOs, benefits technology, or related partner ecosystems.
  • Strong consultative selling and executive relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to grow strategic partnerships and exceed territory growth goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple strategic relationships simultaneously.
  • Experience forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM utilization.
  • HubSpot experience or willingness to quickly become proficient.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience managing KPI-driven performance.
  • Retirement industry knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll, HCM, benefits administration, or HR technology platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications (APA, CPP, SHRM, HRCI, CEBS, AIF, CFP, or similar) are a plus.
