Estimator II – Mechanical Construction (Remote)

Remote | Full-Time

Confidential Opportunity – Partnered with a Leading Mechanical Contractor

We are partnered with a well-established, growing mechanical contractor seeking an Estimator II to join their team. This is a remote opportunity with a strong pipeline of work across diverse, large-scale commercial projects.

About the Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across mechanical scopes including plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of project types including plan/spec, design-assist, and design-build.

Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Preconstruction
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work
  • Perform detailed takeoffs and develop accurate cost estimates
  • Prepare proposals and bid documentation for current and prospective clients
  • Evaluate design options and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Obtain and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing
Cost Analysis & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Track project costs and compare estimates to actuals
  • Prepare cost and expenditure reports throughout project lifecycle
Documentation & Organization
  • Maintain organized files and documentation supporting estimates
  • Track account activity and generate reports as needed
Team Collaboration
  • Support cross-functional teams with estimating needs
  • Contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused culture
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of estimating, engineering, or trade experience in mechanical construction
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Mechanical systems (plumbing, piping, sheet metal)
    • Construction documents and drawings
    • Estimating techniques and cost control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Ability to interpret drawings and analyze data to support accurate estimating
  • Basic negotiation experience with subcontractors and vendors
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
