Job description

Job Title: Epic ClinDoc Analyst

Summary:

The Epic ClinDoc Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, optimization, and support of clinical documentation workflows within Epic. This role supports nursing documentation, clinical assessments, flowsheets, care plans, clinical decision support, and integrated workflows across inpatient and outpatient settings. The analyst works closely with nurses, physicians, and clinical teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and user-friendly documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Epic ClinDoc module build, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Build and optimize clinical documentation tools including flowsheets, care plans, navigator sections, smart tools (SmartText, SmartLinks, SmartForms), and clinical rules.
  • Work with clinical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Epic workflows.
  • Support documentation workflows for nursing, therapy, case management, and other clinical departments.
  • Configure clinical decision support (CDS), alerts, and best practice advisories (BPAs).
  • Develop and maintain build documentation, specifications, change records, and workflow diagrams.
  • Assist in implementing new features, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization efforts.
  • Conduct unit testing, integrated testing, UAT, and support go-live activities.
  • Troubleshoot build issues, identify root causes, and provide end-user support.
  • Collaborate with other Epic teams (Orders, Radiant, Stork, Beaker, Willow, etc.) to ensure workflow integration.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during major events.
Required Qualifications:

  • 25 years of experience supporting Epic ClinDoc or related clinical applications.
  • Epic ClinDoc Certification or Proficiency required.
  • Strong functional understanding of inpatient or outpatient clinical documentation workflows.
  • Experience with flowsheet build, care plans, documentation templates, and smart tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff, leadership, and IT teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and change management processes.
