Job description

Build the Future with Us - This is your chance to shape some of Canada's most complex and nationally significant infrastructure programs. As a Senior Electrical Engineer - Major Building Projects, you will play a pivotal role in advancing largescale defence, institutional, industrial, and Arctic/remote infrastructure projects.

You will support major pursuit teams for multiple defencesector RFPs-helping secure, shape, and deliver the next generation of national infrastructure. This role blends technical excellence, leadership, alternative delivery (P3/DB) expertise, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams toward innovative, constructible, compliant solutions. This position can be based out of any WSP office in Canada 


Your Impact

  • Lead or contribute to electrical designs for large, complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, including P3 and designbuild delivery.
  • Serve as a Key Individual on defence and infrastructure pursuits, supporting experience narratives, compliance documentation, and technical bid inputs.
  • Deliver advanced engineering solutions for building electrical and electronic systems, including: 
    • Lowvoltage power distribution, emergency power, and UPS
    • Lightning protection and grounding
    • Fire detection and voice alarm systems
    • Public address and telecom/security infrastructure
    • Lighting and lighting controls
    • External underground electrical services
  • Provide strategic technical leadership across pursuit and delivery teams on major national programs.
  • Support engineering for Arctic and remote environments, applying design strategies for climate, logistics, constructability, and reliability challenges.
  • Guide and mentor junior and intermediate team members, enabling them to confidently tackle complex design problems.
  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client/sectorspecific requirements-particularly defencerelated specifications.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • P.Eng. (or eligible to transfer) in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated success delivering major, complex infrastructure projects (defence, transportation, industrial, institutional, or utilityscale).
  • Proven experience in P3, DesignBuild, and alternative delivery-with strong understanding of their technical and commercial requirements.
  • Ability to meet eligibility criteria for security clearance required for defence programs.
  • Advanced expertise in largescale electrical systems design and integration.
  • Previous experience supporting projects in the Arctic is necessary
  • Strength in producing compliant, technically robust submissions for complex RFPs
Compensation:
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 - $179,100
  • MB & ON: $123,300 - $169,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $114,900 - $154,800

Votre impact
  • Diriger ou contribuer a la conception electrique de projets d'infrastructure majeurs, complexes et multidisciplinaires, incluant des projets en mode PPP et conceptionconstruction.
  • Agir a titre de personne cle dans les demarches de poursuite en defense et en infrastructure, en soutenant les descriptions d'experience, la documentation de conformite et les contributions techniques aux soumissions.
  • Concevoir et integrer des systemes electriques et electroniques de batiments a grande echelle, notamment la distribution electrique basse tension, l'alimentation d'urgence et les systemes UPS.
  • Developper des solutions pour la protection contre la foudre, la mise a la terre, la detection incendie, les systemes d'alarme vocale, de telecommunications, de securite, d'eclairage et de controle d'eclairage.
  • Fournir un leadership technique strategique aux equipes de poursuite et de realisation dans le cadre de grands programmes nationaux.
  • Soutenir la conception de projets en milieu arctique et en regions eloignees en tenant compte des defis climatiques, logistiques, de constructabilite et de fiabilite.
  • Encadrer et mentorer les membres d'equipe juniors et intermediaires afin de developper leurs competences et leur confiance dans la resolution de problemes complexes.
  • Effectuer des revues de qualite afin d'assurer la conformite aux codes, normes et exigences propres aux clients et aux secteurs, notamment les specifications liees a la defense.
