JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The John A. Dutton Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for part-time Teaching/Grading Assistant positions supporting online geospatial programs during the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years.

Successful candidates will support online geospatial courses offered through Penn State World Campus by assisting with grading assignments and providing timely, rubric-based feedback to students. Course topics may include geographic information systems (GIS), spatial data science, remote sensing, and geospatial programming.

Responsibilities include evaluating student work in the learning management system, applying established grading criteria consistently, and helping ensure prompt feedback to support student engagement and success in a fully online learning environment.

This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow grading guidelines, and familiarity with geospatial concepts or related coursework. Experience with online learning platforms and geospatial tools is preferred.
