Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst supports the design, implementation, and administration of sales compensation programs. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the accurate calculation of commissions, maintaining the integrity of compensation data, and assisting in the analysis of plan effectiveness. The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst ensures accurate calculations, timely payouts, and continuous system improvement. The incumbent will create and manage compensation models, calculate and audit commission payments, and provide insightful analysis to improve plan effectiveness. The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst also plays a key role in communicating compensation policies and resolving any related issues.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs advanced analytics to validate sales commission plan effectiveness and propose enhancements, audits and validates payouts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Develops and implements sales compensation plans, including designing financial models and forecasting the impact of potential changes.
  • Analyzes sales data, tracks quotas, and tracks territory alignment to evaluate the effectiveness of commission and incentive plans. Makes recommendations to improve sales compensation processes and systems.
  • Builds and maintains tools, models, and dashboards to monitor compensation outcomes and access plan performance for ROI.
  • Completes analysis and audits of compensation plan performance and payout effectiveness.
  • Performs regular audits of sales compensation data to ensure accurate and timely payments. Identifies discrepancies, resolves issues proactively, and handles exceptions promptly, in compliance with compensation policies.
  • Supports plan documentation and communication for transparency and adoption across sales teams. Researches and resolves a variety of escalated sales compensation program calculation-related inquiries.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in special projects related to sales compensation, such as plan design, process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Partners closely with Sales Effectiveness, Finance, and Sales Vertical Leadership to ensure existing plans are incentivizing behaviors aligned to the sales strategy and support the governance model by driving ownership and accountability.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and best practices in sales compensation.
  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Progressive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales compensation principles, plan design and analysis.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and fulfill requests to specifications.
  • Ability to anticipate key issues and problems and come to a resolution quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Ability to influence leaders across all levels of the organization.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP) Preferred.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 - 7 Years of experience in incentive compensation, including plan design, modeling, and analysis; completing complex analyses and providing guidance to business partners on compensation-related items.
  • Experience designing, implementing, interpreting, and governing large-scale variable compensation programs.
  • Experience working with Xactly or a similar compensation planning tool.

We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
