Job Summary:
Bureau Veritas is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive regional growth across our full Due Diligence service platform throughout the Midwest. Midwest.
This role is focused on expanding new business tied to both environmental and property condition assessments that support commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, refinancing, dispositions, development, and portfolio management across a relationship-driven and steadily active region.
This position serves as the face of Bureau Veritas' integrated due diligence offering, bringing together environmental, building sciences, and specialty consulting services. The Director will partner with lenders, private equity, owners, developers, brokers, and legal advisors to deliver clear, defensible insights that keep deals moving.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Leads sales strategy and execution for full-service due diligence offerings across the Midwest territory.
  • Drives new business aligned to commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, refinancing, dispositions, and development projects.
  • Builds and expands relationships with lenders, private equity firms, developers, owners, REITs, brokers, and legal counsel active across Midwest markets.
  • Positions Bureau Veritas as a single-source partner for environmental and property condition risk evaluation.
  • Translates both environmental and physical asset risk into actionable insights that align with deal timelines.
  • Collaborates closely with technical teams across environmental and building sciences to ensure scoping accuracy, speed, and quality delivery.
  • Identifies and qualifies high-value prospects, converting opportunities into long-term client relationships.
  • Partners with senior sales leadership to advance and close strategic opportunities.
  • Develops and executes a territory-specific sales plan, including pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue targets.
  • Establishes strong market presence across key Midwest hubs by embedding within the CRE transaction ecosystem.
  • Maintains awareness of market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor offerings.
  • Travels throughout the Midwest region (up to ~25%) for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related field preferred
  • 2-5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client management within due diligence, environmental consulting, engineering, or CRE services
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Experience & Skills:
  • Proven experience selling due diligence services (PCA, Phase I, Phase II, or related consulting services)
  • Strong understanding of how both environmental and physical risks impact deal execution and underwriting
  • Experience working with commercial real estate stakeholders (lenders, investors, developers, etc.)
  • Ability to navigate complex, relationship-driven sales cycles
  • Existing Midwest relationships strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 + uncapped commission
  • Compensation aligned with experience, market, and performance
