Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a remote Senior AI Engineer to join a high-impact AI/ML team focused on building production-grade AI solutions that support customer-facing products. This role will contribute to the full lifecycle of AI systems-from research and development to deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and scale production LLM-powered services, including prompt design, context engineering, and agent-based workflows
* Develop and maintain autonomous AI agents from prototype through production
* Design and execute evaluations for AI/ML systems to inform architecture and performance improvements
* Contribute to shared AI platforms and tooling used across engineering teams
* Write clean, scalable Python code for long-term maintainability
* Partner with product and UX teams to assess AI feasibility and technical solutions
* Monitor and optimize AI systems for performance, latency, and cost efficiency
* Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities for system improvements
* Ensure AI solutions meet data privacy and compliance standards
* Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and best practices
REQUIREMENTS:
* End-to-end AI/ML lifecycle experience (design through deployment and maintenance)
* Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms (e.g., AWS)
* Exposure to document processing and automation using LLMs
* Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers
* Familiarity with modern Python tooling and project management practices
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
