Role Overview
The Data Architect II is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing the organization's data architecture, ensuring the efficient flow, governance, and utilization of data across multiple platforms. This role focuses on building a modern, robust, and scalable data architecture approach, enhancing data strategy, and supporting data-driven business decisions. As a senior member of the team, the Data Architect provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish the future-state data architecture and blueprints that enable enterprise data needs.
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive data architecture processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards.
  • Design and implement modern data architectures that support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Develop advanced conceptual and logical data models to drive consistency across data modeling practices.
  • Oversee the determination of enterprise data storage approaches and define strategies for data reuse.
  • Implement and advocate for data management best practices, including storage, integration, and consumption patterns.
  • Lead data integration efforts across multiple systems, ensuring effective integration from multiple sources into centralized platforms.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to implement data storage and management systems.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
Experience: 8+ years of total experience in technology, with at least 6 years in data architecture, data modeling, database design, or a related field. Experience leading complex projects involving data products, data lake, data warehousing, and data modeling in the financial services domain is required.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures, including cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and modern data platform tools (Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and advanced data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin).
  • Deep experience with cloud platforms such as MS-Fabric, Azure, and Snowflake, and tools like Data Factory, Power BI, and Copilot.
  • Understanding of entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance frameworks and metadata management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, Azure/Fabric Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Rate Range: $65.00/hr to $90.00/hr
