Description
Gaggle has been supporting student safety and well-being for more than 20 years and is currently serving 5.2 million students. We help K-12 districts manage student safety on school-provided technology, offer tele-therapy to students and staff and we've helped hundreds of districts avoid tragedies and save lives.
Gaggle is in the process of building our Crisis Counselor team. We are seeking Independent Contractors for positions of Crisis Counselor. This contract work allows you the flexibility to work within the constraints of your own schedule. The Gaggle ReachOut team offers a 24x7 service that is used to support students in crisis situations. As an Independent Contractor, you would be supporting Gaggle's work in making a positive impact on the lives of K-12 students.
Requirements:
  • Crisis Help Line experience and certification preferred
  • Background in crisis management/de-escalation, mental health and/or social services.
  • Counseling or coaching experience
  • Excel at empathetic listening, building strong rapport through text-based chat, and providing compassionate support during someone's mental, emotional, or relational challenges.
  • Experience using various computer and web-based applications in a professional environmen
  • Ability to exhibit tolerance of and respect for others opinions
  • Adaptability to change
  • Ability to work independently; experience working as an Independent Contractor preferred
  • Access to high-speed internet (satellite is not acceptable)
  • Access to a computer, chromebook, or laptop (tablets/phones are not acceptable)
  • Experience with Slack or other business-based chat applications is a plus
  • Must be comfortable in an ambiguous start-up environment, as process improvements continue to be implemented
  • Strong technology skills
  • Be flexible to sign up for shifts to cover the crisis line 24/7. We will work with you on your availability to support kids in need. Multiple shifts and options are available.

Additional Considerations:
  • The non-renewing, Independent Contractor assignment is not guaranteed for any length of time, workloads and hours will vary
  • Gaggle is in the process of partnering with school districts for this service, as a result, we will need flexibility from anyone accepting this contract with both start date and scheduling.
  • Contracts can be terminated at any time
  • There is potential for contract renewal depending on workflow and personal ability to fulfill responsibilities outlined above
  • Because Gaggle strives to enter into contract agreements with Independent Contractors who contributes to Gaggle's mission of student safety, criminal background checks are required for all prospective Independent Contractors - this screening includes, but is not limited to, both a National Criminal and National Sex Offender Registry check
  • 100% remote work - Work from any location you choose
