The Position

At LendingTree, we help people make smarter financial decisions during some of life's biggest moments. As Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, you'll bring the voice of the customer into product, marketing, brand, and business decisions. You'll lead a high-impact insights function that turns research into clear, actionable recommendations, helps teams make smarter decisions, and drives measurable outcomes across growth, retention, acquisition, product adoption, and brand performance.

Success in this role means building a culture where customer understanding is embedded in decision-making and where insights consistently drive meaningful business outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Set the consumer insights strategy and research roadmap, prioritizing the most important business questions and aligning work to company goals.
  • Develop annual research priorities and balance proactive insight generation with stakeholder-driven research needs.
  • Lead and scale qualitative and quantitative research programs, including customer discovery, evaluative research, surveys, brand tracking, NPS, segmentation, conjoint analysis, driver analysis, and statistical modeling.
  • Build and evolve customer insight capabilities, processes, dashboards, and measurement frameworks that track customer sentiment, behavior, and business performance over time.
  • Serve as a strong advocate for customers and users by bringing their needs, motivations, and pain points into strategic and day-to-day decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions with evidence and keep teams focused on customer problems before jumping to solutions.
  • Translate research findings into clear recommendations that influence product, marketing, brand, and business strategy, help teams prioritize effectively, and support executive decision-making.
  • Partner across Product, Design, UX, Engineering, Marketing, Brand, Analytics, executive leadership, and external research partners to drive alignment and action.
  • Build credibility with senior leadership through rigorous research, thoughtful analysis, and compelling storytelling.
  • Manage agencies and research vendors, ensure research investments connect to business impact, and continue to grow organizational research maturity.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, customer insights, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, career development, and team development.
  • Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative research methods, with strong judgment on which approach best fits the business question.
  • Experience translating customer insights into business recommendations, influencing decisions, and connecting research to measurable outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to see both tactical and long-term implications of research findings.
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to connect customer insights to growth, retention, acquisition, product adoption, and business performance.
  • Experience identifying growth opportunities, framing business problems, prioritizing effectively, and connecting research to strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including synthesizing complex information, presenting to executive audiences, and influencing stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Strong analytical rigor, research design expertise, and comfort navigating ambiguity to drive clarity and action.
  • Proven ability to build trust, influence without direct authority, align stakeholders around customer needs, and help foster a customer-centered culture.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and influencing strategic decisions through research and customer understanding.
  • Experience building and scaling research capabilities, processes, or programs.
  • Experience managing research vendors, agencies, and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, marketplaces, or other consumer-facing industries.
  • Experience building or scaling customer insight functions, research operations, or measurement programs.

  • We've welcomed several other companies into the LendingTree family to augment our efforts at helping borrowers make their most sensible financial choices.
  • We've built the LendingTree app and My LendingTree dashboard to give consumers tools to manage and monitor their financial health.
